Alanna and Kate, two unsuspecting heroes, set out to work an adoption event with clear intentions – no new furry family members. Fate, however, had other plans, and it wore a silky coat.
As the event's lights dimmed and the last hopeful tails wagged, there stood Lupita, a tiny bundle hiding in the corner, shaking like a Chihuahua on Red Bull with Puerto Rican roots and a coat smoother than a salsa dance. Her enchanting gaze (bulging eyes) looked straight into Kate's soul.
"Begging" might be an understatement when it came to Kate's plea to take Lupita home. Against all initial resolutions, Lupita became an honorary Mainer, braving the snowflakes with her newfound family…for a short time.
However, Lupita's story takes a twist that even fairy tales couldn't predict. It turns out, Lupita wasn't just looking for a forever home; she was on a mission. Yearning for the warmth of her Puerto Rican homeland, Lupita now resides as the Original Silky Sato in the Caribbean breeze.
When she’s not working on her tan, or curled up on the couch, her days are spent helping other dogs find their way from the scary streets to cozy sheets. Lupita, once the belle of the Maine winter ball, has found her true calling in the tropical paradise she calls home. And so, the Silky Sato saga continues, with Lupita leading the way, a tropical queen with a heart as warm as the Puerto Rican sun.
